About The Business

Recently established, Bugson Lifelines is Sault Ste. Marie’s first fully queer-owned and operated dog training business. You might wonder why that matters — and the answer is important. As members of the community, we’ve felt the impact of negative public attitudes and understand how they affect people. Our mission is to create a safe, welcoming space for everyone, no matter who you are.

We are a team of passionate pet enthusiasts dedicated to giving you the very best. Whether you’re looking for training or simply someone to spend time with your pet during the day, we have what you need — all at an affordable price. Our trainers owner-trained their own service dogs due to a lack of available resources, and that experience inspired the creation of Bugson Lifelines — the resource our community had been missing.

We work with you to train your dog — service dog or not — while empowering you to develop your own skills. Our balanced training approach helps you achieve excellent results while keeping your pet happy, engaged, and excited to learn!

Meet Our Team.

From training, to dog walking, and behind the scenes work. We have a wonderful team of passionate people, dedicated to improving the lives of pets and their parents one session, walk, and reel at a time.

Charlie and Bug

Dedicated dog dad to three wonderful pups—Bug, Nacho, and Moose—I’ve always had a deep passion for animals. I’ve been training dogs for over six years and continue learning every day so I can grow alongside each client I work with. I also offer grooming services, using skills I developed in my previous job.

Lately, I’ve been getting into agility and plan to compete with my service dog, Bug. Each of my dogs has their own special talent, from therapy work to tricks. I’m always learning and evolving to ensure I can provide the best service possible to every dog and owner I meet.

Pamela and Mason

Proud dog mom to Mason and Dizzy, plus the honorary dog—my cat Calvin. Mason is my third owner-trained service dog, and even in retirement he’ll keep busy with speedway and new tricks. My passion is scent detection, and I love exploring new challenges with my animals.

I enjoy road trips with my pets and understand how important our animals are to us. That’s why I’m always learning—every dog is unique, and I love finding the best approach for each one. I look forward to helping you create the dog of your dreams.

Ryatt and Kisa

I’m a proud pet parent to two wonderful dogs, Dexter and Mukwa, and a cat, Ishkode, who’s convinced he’s part dog. I’ve always had a deep passion for animals and the arts, and I understand that every animal has unique needs. As someone with a reactive dog, I have hands-on experience working with them and know how to give them the respect and care they deserve. I also have experience with snakes, lizards, rodents, birds, and fish, as well as administering medications and caring for pets after surgery. On the artistic side, I enjoy creating whatever our business needs and more.

Quinn and Moose

Married into the chaotic life of dogs, I’ve developed a growing passion for training. I’m currently working with my first dog, Moose, and we’re learning side by side every day. I didn’t grow up with a big love for dogs, but now I enjoy everything from training to agility—Moose is truly the best partner in crime.

On the creative side, I’ve spent years editing videos and managing social media on a personal level. Now I’m putting those skills to work for our business, continuing to learn and grow so I can keep our socials updated with helpful info and fun reels that showcase what we do.

Our Inspiration

Meet the pups behind the name—Bug and Mason!

Bug in the water

Bug • Black Lab Mix • Multipurpose Service Dog

Bug is a multipurpose service dog trained to support several disabilities, including PTSD, autism support, and high heart-rate alerts. She is fully owner trained and handled, with professional guidance from our trainer, Charlie.

Bug quite literally puts the "Bug" in Bugson Lifelines. Her impact, reliability, and resilience are the foundation on which everything we do is built.

Mason in the water

Mason • White Husky Mix • Psychiatric Service Dog

Mason is a psychiatric service dog who is owner trained and handled by our trainer Pamela. Although nearing retirement, Mason remains engaged, capable, and eager to learn new skills.

Mason puts the "Son" in Bugson Lifelines, representing longevity, partnership, and the deep bond formed through years of dedicate service work

Truly Bugson Lifelines would not exist if it weren't for these two amazing dogs. Everything we do is because of them. They're really the stars here.
